Our Purpose
The purpose of the Hopewell Recreation Ministry is to assist the athletes in growing physically, mentally and spiritually through athletic competition.
We believe athletics can be a valuable tool in leading people to follow Christ by emphasizing spiritual teaching and coaching, Christ-like sportsmanship, and glorifying God over self.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16) ·
Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules. (2 Timothy 2:5) ·
Not to us, Lord, but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness. (Psalm 115:1)
